Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was conceived in Minsk. The father of her Sergey (d. 2019) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka, born on May 5th, 1998, from Minsk Belarus. She holds 12 WTA titles throughout her career. This includes that of the Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. As a specialist of doubles, she also has won the US Open of 2019 as well as the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. With the Belgian tennis superstar she was a WTA 1000s winner at Indian Wells in 2019 and Miami. Only four couples were able to achieve this feat in women's doubles. The singles world ranking climbed yet again, reaching its top position in January 2023. That same year she took home the title in Melbourne before she was ranked number one on the planet in doubles. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the season in 2019 as well as from the year 2018 until close of the season. Dieter Kindlmann coached her briefly from August 2020 to September. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her for the past few years, starting in 2020. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova were her idols.
